Paula Ruuttunen is a ceramic artist, designer, and craftswoman based in Mikkeli, Finland. For over 20 years, she has created ceramic collections that are sold by design retailers like Artek and used in top restaurants. Her practice is rooted in traditional techniques, focusing on functional forms like bowls, cups, teapots, and bottles. Paula shapes clay on the potter’s wheel, blending centuries-old methods with contemporary aesthetics. Her work often balances utility and sculpture. Wood firing is central to her process — she sees the kiln not just as a tool but as a collaborator that brings soul and character to each piece. Her works are exhibited in Finland and abroad.
